I have written guidebooks and travel articles on Spain, Mexico and France, and worked in several other countries, with an emphasis on culture, history, current affairs, food and drink. I've also written features on design, film, art and music, and work regularly as a restaurant reviewer. I have a Ph.D on the history of Anarchism in Barcelona, and am fluent in Spanish and Catalan and have a good level in French.
I have worked on pretty much every stage of modern book creation – writing myself, commissioning other writers, project development, picture editing and detailed copy editing and DTP work.
I can research, write and/or edit pieces large or small – from publicity material, leaflets and features to whole books – and can advise on layout and the presentation of complex information in an easily accessible way. Research-based work, especially on travel and the Hispanic world, is a speciality.
I also do translations from Spanish and Catalan
